Generation Supply/Load

Alberta supply of generation changes in real time to meet the load of all consumers in the province. The following chart details the installed Market Capacity. The Available Generation is updated based on plant closures and production offline. The Actual Generation is what is being dispatched into the market plus or minus imports or exports from and to neighboring jurisdictions. Note: when reserve margins shrink, you can expect power pool prices to increase.
