PRICE ALERT is a real-time filtering and monitoring application of the Power Pool’s hourly spot price for electricity in Alberta. The system offers users ‘at-a-glance’ graphical trend analysis of the average pool price; by hour, day, month and year.
This is an open source service, available to any user. The application automatically monitors the Power Pool web site 7X24 and provides the user with email notification anytime the prices rise or fall outside of a threshold that the individual user has elected to set. Users of the application are provided with an icon tool kit, embedded on the screen so that the graph can be printed, copied, saved or e-mailed.
